The Diversity Initiative
The Diversity Initiative was launched in response to requests from employers who experience challenges in recruiting, welcoming and retaining talented employees from diverse backgrounds. The Diversity Initiative is set up to:

Provide businesses with Cultural Ambassadors to meet one-on-one with new and potential recruits to help acclimate them into the region;

Host quarterly “welcome receptions” to connect newcomers, particularly those from international and diverse backgrounds, with each other and the larger community;

Raise awareness of multi-cultural happenings within the Quad-City region;

Identify and promote employment opportunities for trailing spouses/significant others.
A Diversity Initiative steering committee comprised of area CEOs meets regularly to make sure employers are supported in their efforts to hire and retain diverse populations.
