Transportation
It's trouble-free access in and out of the Iowa Quad Cities. The area is positioned at the crossroads of major interstates and highways. An international airport offers direct flights to major hubs each day. Freight can be shipped easily by rail or barge. Buses, bike trails and even water taxis help make getting there a whole lot faster and better.

Plus, this area is conveniently only 2.5 hours away by vehicle to Chicago or Des Moines, and within four to six hours from St. Louis, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Milwaukee or Omaha.

Here's a look at what is available in Scott County, Iowa, to help you get around:

Bus

The Bettendorf Transit System operates four bus routes within the city. Dial-A-Bus service is also available to disabled or elderly residents needing a ride within City limits. MetroLINK also serves the area with daily routes in the community. The Quad Cities Loop provides transportation from the downtown areas and the Village of East Davenport.

Rail

Amtrak service is currently 45 minute drive from the Quad Cities, but funding has been secured to implement Chicago to Quad Cities Amtrak service by 2012. 

Air

The Quad City International Airport provides direct daily access to 8 destinations via 5 airlines. Hub cities served include: Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Orlando, Detroit, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Memphis.
The Davenport Municipal Airport provides a vital link to businesses and industry with two runways located near Interstate 80 in Mount Joy, Iowa.

Waterways

The Mississippi River is navigable ten months out of the year, linking barges to tributaries, the Great Lakes and Gulf of Mexico. Other local rivers are the Wapsipinicon and Rock. It's also a great place for leisure time with boating, skiing, fishing and other activities along the banks.

Roadways

Interstate 80 provides direct access to both the east and west coasts from the Quad Cities. Our area also boasts having Interstates 74, 88 and 280.
