Davenport Public Libraries – Eastern Avenue Branch kicked off the construction of its new LEED-certified library with a tree planting to mark its “green” initiative. Some of the “green” elements of the library will include geothermal heating and cooling, energy efficient design, stormwater management, day lighting and indoor environmental quality to reduce exposure to chemicals. Veterans Memorial Parkway at the 65th St. bridge in Davenport officially opened. This $3.97 million project features 1.15 miles of roadway that will provide access to housing and commercial development along the Eastern Avenue corridor. Additionally, this project includes an extension of the bike trail system.
