Davenport’s visionary leadership has promoted a downtown renaissance that has included river beautification, streetscaping, cultural amenities and more throughout the past few years. A wide range of city services are provided, including police and fire protection, garbage pick-up, libraries, parks and community planning.
The Davenport Police Department, made up of more than 200 dedicated men and women, includes 161 sworn officers. The Davenport Fire Department includes over 100 uniformed personnel, a medical director, an emergency medical services coordinator and two civilian secretaries.
The Bi-State Regional Commission serves as a council of governments to help ensure all of our local municipalities work together to serve the region.
