Internships

Providing students with internship opportunities in our region encourages more young professionals to join the Quad-City workforce upon graduation.

To assist our members in carrying out this valuable program, Iowa Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce has created an Internship Resource Guide. This Guide includes best practices for creating an internship program, tips on how to recruit an intern to become a full-time employee, a sample job description for an intern, an evaluation form and a letter of recommendation.

In addition, Iowa Quad City Chamber of Commerce members are encouraged to post internship opportunities on Iowa Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce Internship Job Board at no charge. Iowa Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce works with local college career centers to communicate these internships to students.

The Network – Young Professionals Group is a workforce development function of the Quad City Chamber of Commerce Federation that acts to retain our young workforce by engaging young professionals. It strives to cultivate social and professional development, provide service leadership opportunities, facilitate the connection of young talent with the hiring needs of employers, and engage in advocacy of YP interests.

A function of The Network, i.network sets out to engage interns in the Quad-City community to ultimately increase their likelihood of returning for permanent employment after graduation. i.network provides intern-geared programming and social functions to expose interns to the opportunities our community has to offer.
